The Museum of Religious Art in Sahagún is located inside the XVI Benedictine Monastery, close to the Monastery of Saint Benito, built in the XII century.
Inside the museum you can find the scenes of Christ’s Passion by the Brotherhood of Jesus of Nazareth. Some of them, such as the “Cristo de la Urna” and an XVIII century alterpiece, are of great importance.
San Benito mansion was built on the remains of the old monastery. In fact, the structure of the cloisters can still be perfectly seen from the gardens.
Inside, there is a marvellous collection of objects from the region which are considered to be of great historical importance.
